At the very least, I least expected them to leave a note that gave a phone number that you could call if you had any questions or needed any information. It certainly has no place in a B&B where personal service is normally the hallmark. Self-Check-in was introduced during COVID to limit the spread of the virus, but the pandemic is long over and if that’s their reason, it would be a transparent excuse. They have self-check-in, so we didn’t even meet our hosts until the next morning at breakfast. This place was unfortunately none of that. They are usually available for questions about the accommodation and offer suggestions on places to see in the town you’re visiting. But I choose B&Bs because they typically have friendly welcoming outgoing hosts that greet you and want to get to know you. If I just wanted a place to stay, I’d go to a hotel and spend less money. Personally, I go to B&Bs for the personal interaction. Unfortunately, there are plenty of negatives. It is in a convenient location only a block off the main street. There are lots of touches such as white woodwork that you might have seen in a period home. This is a newly built home that was built to look old, and it was very well done. The room was immaculate, and the common sitting areas were clean and attractive. If we are ever back in Ouray we will definitely stay here again!įirst, the positives. Our favorite part of the inn was probably sitting out on the swinging chair on the front porch in the evenings just watching the world go by. We chose to eat in the little library off to the side because there are only two tables in there spaced very far apart. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing! You have the option to take your food to your room. The room was spotless and when we called to request more towels due to no housekeeping currently, Charles brought them up within one minute. All staff are wearing face coverings all the time, which I really appreciated due to the pandemic. We received homemade ice cream and apple pie on the 4th which was delicious. So friendly and always ready with a recommendation or answer to a question. Melissa and Charles are the loveliest people. The absolute best part of this inn is the owners. We stayed here for two nights over the 4th of July weekend in the Sovereign of the Seas room.
